📚Tech Glossary

JAVA
Java is a high-level, object-oriented programming language widely used for building desktop, web, and mobile applications. It follows the principle of “write once, run anywhere”, meaning Java programs can run on any system with a Java Virtual Machine (JVM). Java is known for its portability, security, and strong memory management, making it a popular choice for large-scale enterprise applications and Android development.
HTML
HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is the standard markup language used to create and structure content on the web. It defines the meaning and structure of web pages using elements (tags) such as headings, paragraphs, links, images, lists and forms. Browsers read HTML to render text and media, and HTML is typically used together with CSS (for styling) and JavaScript (for behavior).
CSS
CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) is a stylesheet language used to control the appearance and layout of HTML elements on a web page. It defines styles such as colors, fonts, spacing, borders, and positioning, allowing web pages to look attractive and consistent across devices. CSS works alongside HTML to separate content (HTML) from presentation (CSS), improving maintainability and design flexibility.
SQL
SQL (Structured Query Language) is a standard programming language used to store, manage, and manipulate data in relational databases. It allows users to create tables, insert data, update records, and retrieve information efficiently using queries. SQL is essential for data analysis, backend development, and database management in applications of all sizes.
